General information Metal french doors are the typical that you would find at a big box store. Usually they would be stapled, not screwed together and the glass is a lite kit which is screwed into the cut out metal door. The thresholds are usually aluminum inside and out which is not particularly appealing. Our metal doors are screwed together for easy size adjustment on site, the glass is always low e argon, and the sills are aluminum on the outside for durability and PVC VINYL on the inside. Fiberglass doors are preferred over metal mainly because they do not dent or rust. Kit glass is available for the budget models however flush glazed snap in glass and true flush glazed fiberglass are more architecturally appealing. Wood of course is the king of the castle. The warmth and look and feel are undeniable. More costly than metal or fiberglass and usually require a more expensive on site paint or stain grade finish.
